Aretha Franklin made her first public appearance since undergoing surgery when she turned out to watch the Miami Heat-Detroit Pistons game Friday night.

The legendary soul singer, who last year canceled all upcoming performances and personal appearances due to an undisclosed illness, said she hoped to return to the stage in May. Check a few pics:

"Probably starting at Radio City, reschedule what I had to cancel," she told the Associated Press, referring to her scrapped performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Franklin has not said why she cleared her schedule and underwent surgery Dec. 2, but media reports claim she suffers from pancreatic cancer.

But the 68-year-old appeared to be well at the game on Friday, waving at fans when she showed up on the big screen above the court, AP said.

"I'm feeling really great," she told AP. "Loving the game, loving the game."
